Udaipur needs no introduction. 665 kms from Delhi, its an overnight journey by road. Udaipur was the capital of Maharana Pratap - the famous rajput who went down fighting the Moghuls of Delhi. He belonged to the House of Mewar - the world's longest serving dynasty. Udaipur still has a Maharana - Arvind Singhji Mewar - who owns a stunning collection of Rolls Royce.

Things to see in Udaipur? Skip the Saheliyon ki Baadi - a garden meant for the queens. Shilpgram - a cultural village is good walk. Moti Magri is where you have Maharana Pratap memorial (the telescope guy here is fun!). Then you have the famous Fatehsagar Lake and Nehru Garden at its centre. But the real cake of Udaipur are the City Palace, Lake Palace and the old city area around it. Also the ghats of Pichola Lake and the little bridges over it.
